Jim’s Pool Care – 2018 National Conference

After listening to our Key Note speaker Kate Osborne, we all stepped back a little and thought more holistically about things.  Kate made us think about why we got into business for ourselves, are we reaching our potential and what are our goals. Kate and Kent also raised a great point that we need to involve our partners more and be mindful of how we plant seeds about future plans and goals. Kate ran a great “Icebreaker” session and got us all up and moving tables to meet new people.

Arrival & Registration Day One 
The Sheraton Mirage Resort in Port Douglas definitely had the WOW factor. The grounds were amazing, the pools were outstanding, the accommodation was exceptional and the staff were friendly. 

Once we had checked in we met up with Kelli, Kerri, Skyla, Pippi and Holli at Conference registration who gave us our Conference showbag, this included some Jim’s Pool Care marketing ideas, our conference shirt and more.

Wednesday Welcome Dinner 
Tonight we gathered on Mirage Island for our BBQ Buffet Welcome Dinner.
Brett provided a warm welcome speech to our Suppliers, Conference Delegates, Partners & Children.  Awards were also handed out for the Jim’s Pool Care 2018 Golf Open, well done Doug Greer (Zodiac) and Kent Osborne for taking home the trophies.

We then enjoyed some Nth QLD entertainment by Nick, the Cane Toad Racer. Some lucky jockeys were assigned a Cane Toad, a kiss for goodluck and the race was on. Adults and Children all cheered them on. Plenty of laughs were shared this evening as new and existing Franchisees began to network.  Some caught up for a quiet cocktail after dinner but it was an early night for most.

Conference Day Two
After a delicious buffet breakfast in Feast Restaurant it was down to serious business. We entered the Mirage Ballroom Foyer where Suppliers were at their stands ready to answer our questions and promote their products.

We then headed into the Conference room and met Kate Osborne who took us on a learning path, her first session being “WHO AM I BECOMING?” followed by a FORMULA FOR CHANGE. We then heard from Anthony Lestani from Sunbather, he told us about the new Sunbather products being launched. 

With us all looking very smart in our Conference shirts we headed out by the pool for our traditional team photo before heading to the restaurant for lunch.

Conference Day Three
Today we heard from Zodiac, Maytronics and AstralPool. We also had some great content from Kate about goal setting over 2, 5 and 10 Years. It was a real eye opener. Some of the Franchisors also developed and delivered session/workshops.
