Pool Sand Filter or Pool Cartridge Filter?
There are benefits to both types of Pool Filters but it depends on your pool, your pool environment and the amount of pool maintenance you want to perform. Sand Filter or Filter Media change and maintenance – How often?
We usually recommend to change your filter media every 5 to 7 years, depending on the load your pool has had. It is a maintenance task that will ensure your pool will looks its best and refresh your pool filter. There are a range of media now available that include:
- Sand media
- Glass media
- Volcanic Rock Media
- Plastic Media
If you are unsure how old your media is and it could be greater than 5 years, we would recommend a change. Â Usual costs start at around $400 and upwards depending on the size of the filter and the media type you choose. You will need to think about if the old media can put into a nearby garden or required to be taken off site. Â If the filter is much older than 5-7 years you may want to enquire about a new complete Media Filter for peace of mind.
