After days of speculation our old mate and Australia sporting hero Ian Thorpe has released his advertisement launching a pool cleaning “spoof” about him starting a small home based Pool Service business. This was part of a larger campaign by Optus to promote their small business competition whereby you can win a Ticket to Rio Olympics. Multiple websites were creating banter about what was happening and now we all know. The quote from the Pool + Spa website was “No, Ian Thorpe is not setting up a pool company”.
Ian Thorpe has done all Pool guys and Pool Cleaning companies proud with his advertisement and touches on several key points and dramas that pool cleaning companies and small business owners face daily.
Jim’s Pool Care General Manager Brett Blair said “I love the ad Ian Thorpe has done. I have not laughed that hard in a long time. He really got into it and his side kick played a great support role also. On a more serious note we would love to chat with Ian about a Jim’s Pool Care franchise if he wants to take his small business to the next level, give us a call Thorpedo!”.
Well done Ian Thorpe and well done Optus.
Jim’s Pool Care has 86+ mobile pool shops Australia wide and are part of the Jim’s Group of Home Services Franchises.
