
Meet Your Regional Franchisor: Jim’s Pool Care South Australia
Hi, I’m James Lunnay, the Regional Franchisor for Jim’s Pool Care South Australia, a role I’ve proudly held since 2005. I’m also a working franchisee, operating Jim’s Pool Care West Lakes since 2004. With over 30 years in the pool care industry, I bring a wealth of knowledge and hands-on experience to both my customers and our growing team of franchisees.
Before joining Jim’s, I worked as the Pool Manager at Next Generation Memorial Drive and have been involved in the pool and aquatic industry since 1989. I’ve always had a passion for the industry, and when the opportunity came to take greater control over my time and future, I jumped at it.
I was originally drawn to Jim’s Pool Care by the freedom it offered — being able to set my own schedule, build something of my own, and have the flexibility to grow at my pace. That decision has been life-changing. The combination of being my own boss and having the support of a trusted national brand gave me the foundation to succeed.
As a Regional Franchisor, I take great pride in helping others achieve similar success. Supporting new franchisees as they learn the industry and build their businesses is one of the most rewarding parts of my role. In Adelaide, we currently have eight active franchisees, and there’s plenty of room for more driven individuals to join our team.
I make it a priority to be available when my franchisees need support. I know how fast-paced the job can be, and that they’re often looking for answers while they’re on-site with customers. I do my best to respond promptly, and if I don’t have an immediate solution, I follow up as soon as I can. My goal is to make sure they feel supported and confident every step of the way.
As a working franchisee, I still enjoy being out in the field. I love working outdoors and taking care of my customers’ pools. One of the most satisfying parts of the job is the relationships I’ve built — getting to know my clients and watching their families grow over the years. It’s not just about maintaining pools; it’s about providing a service that adds real value to people’s lives.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, and I believe in maintaining a healthy work-life balance. I’m also proud to support our local sporting clubs through sponsorship, giving back to the community that has supported me.
